Indiana based FBO Academy, the training institute for the aviation service industry is using 3DXplorer’s cutting-edge 3D technology to power its Virtual Online Aviation Expo. The expo is a permanent virtual hall dedicated to Fixed Base Operator (FBO) professionals in the aviation industry.

The Online Aviation Expo utilizes 3DXplorer to create a virtual 3D space that allows vendors and visitors to interact with each another. Participants can view products and displays from a variety of vendors from the comfort of their home or office computers using standard web browsers—without the use of any plug-ins.

Attendees can move through the virtual expo space using 3D avatars that can communicate with each other with live text chat or with audio via Skype.

As pre-announced a few weeks ago, 3DXplorer V5 is now released. Among the new features of this scalable, efficient, reliable, flexible and secure cloud-based network architecture are additional choices and categories of avatars, capacity for more than 100 avatars simultaneously in a single space (with 3DX/Conferencing), intranet installations with unlimited number of rooms (3DX/Enterprise Edition). V5 offers white label services for marketing partners and includes increased possibilities for customizations.

For the first time, an immersive and interactive web3D platform is offered on a cloud-based architecture. 3DXplorer being browser-based with no download required, enables users to collaborate live, leaning on their set of distributed resources. Primary resources which can each be on a different server on the cloud are:

-          The application: 3DXplorer

-          Static data including the 3D space, and all related 2D/3D content

-          Dynamic synchronized data including the multi-user session service, the streamed data server for presentations, remote access, the chat server.

Cloud-based architectures reduce cost of maintenance, increase scalability, flexibility and reliability. Security is also improved as customers benefit from an easy to maintain SaaS application, while hosting sensitive data internally and inaccessible from outside the firewall. 3DXplorer V5’s new packaging enables customers to start with the 3DX/Platform, free of charge, then upgrade to applications such as 3DX/Online Meeting, 3DX/Meet in 3D or 3DX/Conferencing, depending on their needs.

We are glad to announce, as we did it to the press yesterday, the release of 3DXplorer new product line, 3DXplorer Enterprise Edition, with immediate availability.  All 3DXplorer SaaS based products are now also available for installation on corporate servers behind the firewall.

Demanding customers with specific requirements in terms of performance of the servers, security of their data, or even due to specific geographic distribution of their users, now have the choice of using their own network infrastructure and use 3DXplorer as a traditional software, installed on their own servers and managed by their own IT team, instead of using it in the standard SaaS mode (Software as a Service).
